Climatology group

We are interested in the climate system and its links to human activities. In particular we investigate local and microscale effects in extraordinary and extreme environments such as cities, caves, and mountain tops. Our research interests include:

Urban climates

  • Remote sensing of urban climates
  • A global database of form and function of cities
  • Crowd sourcing of urban environments and smart city
  • Applied urban climatology and climate adaption

Climates Of Extreme Locations

  • ground-based measurements and satellite-based remote sensing
  • numerical models and dynamical downscaling
  • subway climatology and climatology of glacial caves and mines
  • climatology of mountain tops
