The COST action CA20108 - FAIR NEtwork of micrometeorological measurements (FAIRNESS) started with a two-day online meeting of the Management Committee on October 14th and 15th.
FAIRNESS addresses the sparseness on micrometeorological data, which is a critical limitation for various applications and fields, including health, agriculture and urban climatology. It intends to improve standardization and integration between micrometeorological measurements established for special purposes, create transboundary network of researchers and stakeholders and establish a knowledge share platform for these data.
The RUB climatology group is involved with two senior scientists, namely Matthias Demuzere and Benjamin Bechtel. Benjamin Bechtel is the German member of the Management Committee and was elected as leader of Working Group 4: Beyond FAIRNESS strategies on the first meeting.
